-RM-121-MR-Remove flickering when updating data sets

This is a request for two maybe related issues:

  • Flickering of the GUI when updating the output of a module while the module is selected: this may be partially solved by blocking gui or widget updates while most of the changes are performed. Some initial experiments in this direction failed and may be due to maybe two update calls being sent (one for the removal and one for the addition?)

  • Flickering of the data in the 2D and 3D widgets: If data is updated by similar data, there should be a way to keep the simple colormaps flicker-free. This is required if faster "streams" of data are processed.
